Strategic Pillars

To accomplish its mission, SUMMA organizes its actions in three strategic pillars that allow the promotion, development and spread of: (1) cutting-edge research aimed at diagnosing the main challenges in the region and promoting shared work agendas; (2) innovation in education policies and practices aimed at providing solutions for the main education problems in the region; (3) collaborative spaces that allow the exchange between policy makers, researchers, innovators and the school community, based on a consensual regional agenda.

Pillar I: CUTTING EDGE INVESTIGATION AIMED TOWARDS STRENGHTENING THE DECISION-MAKING PROCESSES.

  • Analysis, development and difusion of information, evidence and knowledge.
  • Identification and analysis of policies, processes and successful practices.
  • Generation and recomendations based on evidence.

INNOVATION

Pillar II: PROMOTING INNOVATION IN EDUCATION THROUGH THE SPREAD OF INNOVATIVE AND EFFECTIVE PRACTICES.

  • Priorization of critical problems at the local, national and regional level.
  • Detection of innovative solutions.
  • Impact evaluation of different solutions.
  • Scale-up successful cases.
  • Difusion of best practices.

COLLABORATION NETWORKS

Pillar III: STIMULATING THE COLLABORATION AND KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE BETWEEN POLICY MAKERS, ACADEMICS, INNOVATORS, HEADMASTERS AND EDUCATORS.
